Please Excuse My Brain

I just finished my last class for the semester and I have my first final in an hour and forty minutes (during our normal class time--instead of class) and I feel like if I don't take a break from studying for this final I may go like this:

I feel like I know the material pretty well but it's a test and it involves the words FINAL, GRADE, TEST, which for some reason makes my brain want to shut off. I've really enjoyed this class (Foundations of Developmentally Appropriate Practices) and I'm sad to see the end of, luckily I get to work with my professor next semester in the 2nd part of this class, working in the preschool!
This is the first final of of four, hopefully with lots of sleep and studying I will make it through--wish me luck, I will see you on the other side!

Missed Me?

This is probably by far the biggest amount of time that has gone between me blogging, you want to know why?
Because my life has been completely taken over by this:
and this:

Besides that my life is pretty boring, the last cool thing I did? Umm go to Oregon and California for a week with Kayla and Kyle. Oh yeah I should probably blog about that :) I'll work on it. I have 40 minutes before class and my assignment is done so I just thought that I would pop in and say "HI!"

School Project

Gratefully I have a Mom and Best Friend who are willing to support my craziness and the ideas that come with it or else there would have been no way that I would have got this project done in time for class (at least not form when I started it).
A month or so ago we took a grammar quiz and there were several areas in which our class did not so well. My teacher divided up those areas and assigned each of us two that we had to prepare a little presentation on each area. We were supposed to have some sort of visual and I didn't want to just do a simple handout. One of my areas was apostrophes, I decided that I was going to have a couple of different sentences, some that needed apostrophes and some that did not.

I put each word on a piece of candy from the sentence and then got mike 'n' ikes to use for apostrophes.

We made a set of four sentences for each person in my class (there was a sentence on each side of the candy).
I wrote on each piece of paper, Brea highlighted the words so we would know what sentence it belonged to and my Mom taped the papers on the candy.

Addie so much wanted to be part of the work but sadly this wasn't really a job that she could be involved with.

My presentation was definitely different then everyone else's. Every time they would put together the sentence I would ask them if there needed to be an apostrophe and if there did where did it belong. After the first sentence when someone answered correctly he asked "because I got it right can I eat my apostrophe?" It made me laugh and I was glad that they liked it. Thanks to Brea and Mom (and Addie) for supporting my crazy ideas.

To The Future

Today this place and I became acquaintances again (I thought about saying friends but I'm not quite sure that we have made it there yet). In 2 1/2 hours I will begin my first class of the semester and I'm shaking a bit thinking about it. I haven't always done so well with school, which it why partially it was so easy to stay away.  I'm scared that I will do terribly and I will think "well there you go, school is not for you." and I'm a bit scared that I will do awesome and I will think "well what has your problem been all of this time?" and have no explanation. Kind of silly either way. I love living at home and getting to do stuff with Mom all of the time and I even enjoy working at Trafalga (most of the time), but is it where I want to be for the rest of my life? NO! So here is to the future as I take a giant leap (of faith, excitement, nervousness, etc.) into school!

Day 22

Day 22 - A picture of something you wish you were better at.

I wish that I was better at school in general but tests are definitely where I struggle.

Spring Break

The 2nd piece of paper that I found has the title "What I Didn't Do During Spring Break." at the top, I'm sure that I wrote it for something and it goes along the lines of many other stories but it still made me laugh.

What I Didn't Do During Spring Break

"Hey Beth, how as your Spring Break? What did you do?"
"Well, my Spring Break was great but can we go with something that is not so traditional maybe like what I didn't do?"
"Okay Beth, what didn't you do during Spring Break?"
"Well, I didn't go visit my Grandma in Tibet."
"Why didn't you go visit your Grandma in Tibet?"
"O, for not big reason."
"Why?"
"I didn't go because my Grandma left Tibet."
"She left Tibet, why?"
"O, because of her house."
"Her house? What was wrong with it?"
"Not much besides it was burning."
"Okay, why was it burning?"
"It was burning because of my Uncle."
"You Uncle? What did he do?"
"Had the Russians bomb her house."
"Why did he do that?"
"Because he was mad at my Grandma."
"Why was he mad at your Grandma?"
"He was mad at her because my Grandma didn't send him any cookies at Christmas time."
"No cookies, how come?"
"Because my Grandma stayed with them during Christmas and made them lots of cookies."
"And that is why you didn't go visit your Grandma in Tibet?"
"Yet, and just like I said before there was no big reason why I didn't go visit my Grandma."

Ahh the super professional writing of when I was younger (not that I'm making many promises that it has improved much since).
I now bid adieu as I am going to bed, I hope to get back on the saddle as they say soon and start blogging and catching up on the many things that have happened in the last month plus. I miss the familiarity of blogging and the joy it brings, but for now I much go to bed.

Cambodia!

Have I mentioned that I am going here in less than a month! I'm super duper excited about going, but a little sad because at the same time it signifies that my time here is done and that I will be going home the day after I return from Cambodia. Andrea and I are going for a fun filled 5 day/4 night adventure, filled with tours, swimming at our fancy hotel (and boy is going to be fancy-I mean, it has a swimming pool!), an hour long massage, shopping, and super yummy food.
These next 4 weeks are going to go by like crazy, still to do: practice, practice, practice graduation and get the kids get ready; hopefully plan a picnic; maybe go on a field trip to Ocean Park (Stephanie and I were talking about it the other day, not quite sure if it will come to pass); take a gazillion pictures, graduation, have a five year old sleepover at the school, continue with daily lessons and tutoring, pack, clean, figure out if need to send home a box, and keep my blog up to date (I'm sure there is more but that's what is at the top of the list and mind).
I have enjoyed my time here but can't believe how quickly it has flown by, I'll be sad to go home but extremely happy at the same time, I miss my family and friends, and as weird as it is to say it- I'm ready to go back to school.

PhotoHunt: Monthly

I hate to say it but the first thing that came to my mind when I thought of monthly was not the most appropriate for blogging (well for some it might be, but not for mine :D), so I cleared that away from my mind and thought of the best thing that I do monthly...I get to go to the Temple! At school I wasn't the best at attending the Temple (which is really sad considering it's right up the street), but here we have worked hard at attending at least once a month, and I love being able to attend- even when I hit my head on the font :D

I'm A Dork

Have you ever had one of those moments where you think to yourself "I'm a dork," but then you say "but you do what you got to do?" Well I had one of those yesterday morning as I found myself using a hair dryer to dry my underwear. Thursday morning I discovered as I took my last clean pair of underwear out of the drawer that I should probably do laundry, but I didn't end up getting to it till nearly 8 o'clock that night. Andrea and I went out shopping and I came home and hung it up at around 10pm. As it is very humid and rainy here it takes our clothes several days to dry, so yesterday morning when I woke up my underwear was far from dry. So yes I'm a dork but I wasn't going to go to class wearing wet underwear (talk about cold and awkward!)
