Jimmer Time!

Last night was an amazing night, I'm sure one that will be remembered for many a year. I'm so happy (I'm not sure that, that is even big enough to explain how amazing it was) to have been at the game. What a night with tons of clapping and more than that of screaming/cheering. I'm not sure that my heart will ever recover from how fast it was going at times. I'm so proud to say that I am a BYU/ Jimmer fan and that I attend this university. I will never forget the loudness and total support from the fans of last night and know that nothing will ever compare. If you missed this game (I'm sorry that you did) be sure to check out why this was such a BIG game. Go Cougs!

N. Mexico Domination

The 20th of November BYU had a double day---basketball (against Chicago State) and football (against New Mexico). Kyle, Ben, and I decided to make a day of it and go to both games.

As we were walking up to the game we bought some tickets from guy on the sidewalk trying to sell some...and would you believe that they were on the 2nd row endzone!!?? I know that not all people feel those are the best seats because then you are REALLY close and can't see a lot, but I still felt special and cool :D

It was an AWESOME game! A little cold but the sun came out for awhile and it wasn't too bad.

We saw Cosmo more than a couple of times.

We were really close to the cheerleaders when they would run around when we scored (the guy holding the U...he was in my freshman ward and he even threw me a shirt at one point---now that's enough to feel special :D).

This almost looks like a professional! Only because it is so close and you can see the details, never thought that, that would be something that I could say about my photography.

Though it wasn't too cold there was definitely some wind, look how straight those flags are!

The players telling us that we should be clapping and cheering.

My roommate works concessions and I went to visit her during halftime :D

I don't know why, but every time I see this it cracks me up "Brides have them...Babies have them...Now missionaries have one too! The Missionary Registry."

Kyle and I (he is wearing my hat :D)

Ahh much better

Cosmo

He jumped into the crowd! I've never been even close to something like that.

Did I mention that we won? Final Score...40-7! (we also won basketball ball! 109-60!)

Oh another thing...did I mention that we were on TV? Yeah that's right! There was several people standing beside us that were dressed up rather silly, they won some kind of drawing about being the best fan or something like that and they also caught the attention of the reporter from the mtn and with like 8 minutes to go of the game she came over and climbed up into the stands with us and did a little bit of talking and then we all got to cheer. I had many people tell me that they saw me!
I didn't think that I would get to see it but the Tuesday after the game Brea and I had gone shopping and we had stopped at Taco Time to get some food and I was walking towards the bathroom when I looked up at the TV, I realized that it was the game and stopped to tell Brea that it was the game. Just as I was telling her I popped up on the TV! I actually recognized my hat on Kyle before I recognized myself but it was still awesome to be there at the exact moment when they were showing it.

Dance It Girlfriend!

Last Monday when I was on the bus we passed Sonic in Provo, when we were at a red light I looked over and watched this girl dancing as she was holding up an advertisement. I watched her for a couple of minutes and she was dancing the whole time. I again passed her today a couple of times, with several hours in between them and she was still dancing away. I love seeing people who are putting their whole energy into their job and really seem to be enjoying themselves.

Friday night at the basketball game they were playing music during half-time, I looked across and saw these girls dancing. Unfortunately I only caught the end of it on camera but I loved seeing how carefree they were and how much fun they were having.

Friday was Ben's Birthday and to celebrate we went to the BYU pre-season basketball game against BYU-Hawaii. It was a fun game, both teams seemed to be a little tired and not playing as well as they could be, but I still enjoyed it. Because it wasn't a season game only half the seats were filled, so though we were supposed to be sitting towards the top we moved down and sat on the 20th row!

Look at that awesome shot! (both his and mine :D)

Katrina wasn't being very helpful...I kept trying to take a picture and she wanted to make a silly face.

During the half-time they flew a blimp around the gym.

Mommy and I :D

Oh and we did win!

People will be...Human

Tonight after dinner I went to the RB with Kyle to cheer him and Chris (my cousin) on during their intramural basketball game. The game was going pretty well and the scores were pretty close, when I had a opportunity to be reminded that even though we are at BYU, people are still human no matter where you go. One of the guys on the other team received a technical, for some reason this guy wouldn't let it go, and then all of a sudden he yelled out, "this is (f-word), bull (s-word)" and then he stomped over and grabbed his clothes and stomped out the door, but not without yelling "bull (s-word)" again as he left. This first surprised me as it is not very often that I have to hear this language (not that I am complaining), but then it doubled surprised me because I was at BYU. Next I felt disappointment also, disappointment that my standards for BYU students had been squelched and that he had felt the need to get that worked up over what was supposed to have been a fun game.
I had a second chance to be disappointed in BYU students after the game when I was waiting for Chris and Kyle to finish changing and to come out of the men's locker room. There was also 2 girls who were waiting for a friend to come out of the locker room, while they were waited he had gone out a side door and was coming back down the hallway. When one of the girls looked up and saw him coming she said "what the f?" The guy stopped in his tracks and looked at her very surprised.
I can't say that I always say the nicest things or sometimes the most "appropriate," but it amazes me why people see the need to use this kind of language.
