A Slab Good-Bye

I'm realizing that I'm not really a fan of growing up :( Especially when growing up means that friends graduate and move away. Erin and J.J. finished school in December and have left for Texas for the summer and then they will be going to school in Iowa. Yeah for them, boo for me. Before they left we wanted Allisyn and Addie to have one more chance to play and to see each other so we met for lunch at a newer (I think that it's actually been there for a year or two now but it was my first time going) place called Slab Pizza. It was really good and I would highly recommend it. There were so many different choices and it was hard to narrow it down so Brea and I got two different kinds- The Chicken Club and Rosemary-Potato Bacon and shared (they were both super yummy!).
It was fun to watch the girls play, they were both ready for naps by the end but they were certainly having fun chasing each other in circles around the table.

Jamie even returned from her mission a couple days before so she joined us to get as much Erin and Allisyn time as possible.

The Chicken Club....I may or may not have recreated it a couple of times at work this past week :)

The Rosemary-Potato Bacon...I thought that it sounded a little strange at first but it was really good.

They were really good size pieces. Because the place was right by campus Darrell came down and joined us for lunch as well.

Addie and Allisyn were so funny, Addie would lead and Allisyn would follow (along with my water bottle, both Alli and Addie love it for some reason and seem to think that it is theirs).

It's hard to believe that we have been friends for 5 years now, my how the time has flown!

Lunch of Champions

Nathan and Sallee were in town for a couple of days (yeah!), they wanted to see everyone if only for a bit so we arranged to meet for lunch Friday afternoon. I got lucky and someone was willing to cover my shift so that I could go and join them. We brought my camera but unfortunately forgot to take some pictures after Nate and the Chuys arrived (Claire had been super tired and fell asleep right before they left to come meet us for lunch).

Mommy...love her!

My silly brother who is not a fan of taking a normal picture.

Sonia...she had had surgery on her hand the day before, a big trooper being willing to come have lunch with all of us despite probably being very tired.

The HUGE sandwich that Sonia got...we had not expected it to be so big!

We missed Sallee and Claire at lunch but when we were finished Claire had woken up so Mom and I went over and visited them for a bit...it was so much fun to hear Claire giggling and laughing!

Lunch of Awesomeness!

Something that amazes me is that even though we don't all see each other everyday or all talk all the time whenever we get together it's like we haven't been apart. I love that we continually are a part of each others lives and that I will always have friendships from growing up. Lindsey was visiting from Idaho and so we all joined up for lunch in Orem. It was Mandy and Jamie's suggestion--a really yummy, cheap Mexican restaurant, we all felt like we were back at Mazatlan in Newport.

Mandy and Jamie...I can't believe that they have almost been married a year---oh how time flies!

The bros--Darrell and Clark

Cutie-pie Addie who thought she was one of the big kids and felt that she should be part of it all.

Lindsey and I...her hair looks awesome with the new color and extensions!

What under Addie, Brea, and I looked like as we were getting up from the table.

The whole group...Darrell, Clark, Jamie, Mandy, even Lance joined us, Lindsey, I, Addie, and Brea!

Double Two!

Tuesday was my birthday and I turned the big 2-2!! It was amazing because I began the day with almost no plans but by the end I had a very full day!

It started with lunch at Noodles & Co. with Mom, Sarah, Sonia, Lily, Jacob, Libbey, and Lexie...
Sarah, she scared me that she was going to stab herself in the eye as I was taking this picture.

My beautiful sister-in-law Sonia.

Lily, an adopted sister-in-law.

Jacob, my silly nephew who was more interested in his chicken noodle soup. :D

The whole group (minus my Mom, who is taking the picture)

My beautiful newest niece Alexia...isn't she gorgeous!?

She was dressed up especially for my birthday :D (in pink!!)

Sonia wants to start this new tradition where you are given a balloon to let go with a wish...after I let it go I said that I should have added my picture with phone number to help my wish come true :D

My Mom's Birthday gift was a new pair of winter boots, Sonia had a coupon to get 20% off of everything at Famous Footwear so we headed over there to look. Just our luck they were having a big sale on boots. Mom and I both found a pair that we really liked (yep the same pair :D) and were able to purchase/order them. While Mom/Sonia were paying I looked over and saw silly Sarah hanging upside-down on this chair.

My roommates Janet, Candace, and Anna were all really sweet and made me a birthday cake...it was super duper yummy! Yellow cake with fresh whipped topping (Anna even whipped it by hand as she couldn't find our hand-mixer) with fresh fruit on top. Doesn't it look delicious?
Ben was in town to have a meeting with Kyle and David and so he and Kyle took me out to frozen yogurt...Leah, Addi, Brea, and Darrell joined too! I LOVE Frozen Yogurt! It was Ben's first time trying it :D

Leah and Addi...Brea had forgotten to bring a blanket in for Addi so we wrapped her in my snuggie :D

Brea

Darrell...I don't know why but this picture cracks me up every time I see it.

Ben

Kyle

Kyle and I :D

Brea and Darrell

After frozen yogurt Ben and Kyle went home while the rest of us went back to Brea and Darrell's to hang out for a bit until the movie started. We watched Eat, Love, and Pray because it was one that I had been wanting to see. I liked the movie, though I think that it was rather long and it didn't go at all the way that I thought it was going to. I think that it won't be a movie that I will seek out again on my own but if someone else is watching it I will watch it again with them.

Thanks to all the family and friends who wished me happy birthday and who worked to make it special...I loved all the time spent with people and the wishes of happy birthday via facebook, e-mail, text, and on the phone.
