A Non-Birthday Present!

Yesterday in the mail I received a present! (and it's not even my birthday :D) It was a new camera for me that I had bought...I was a little more than excited to have it come. One of the blogs that I read last week offered her camera for sale and I couldn't pass up the deal, so now I am the owner of a Canon Rebel XT!!!

Oh, did you think that this was going to be pictures of kids? How silly of you, no these pictures taken by the up-and-coming photographer Daniel. He's 2, you know, they're starting them earlier and earlier these days :D

Daniel was having a bit of a hard time during the Relief Society activity last week, so I introduced the digital camera to him. He LOVED it! With the help of Yuling he took over 100 pictures in a time period of 30 or so minutes :D Good thing for digital!

Electronics Department

So in case I haven't told you, we've been talking about shopping lately in our afternoon classes, this will be our 3rd week to be exact. Andrea and I are both realizing that when you have to talk about shopping for 3 weeks in a row you start to not like shopping as much. Our first week we were talking about "grocery store and 7-Eleven" and last week were talking about "mall and department store" and this (our final week) we are talking about shopping in general. Last week for one of my classes I talked about the electronics department and we got to use different things that you might buy in the electronics department (flashlight, tv, hairdryer (they loved that!), cd player, etc.). I brought my camera and let them each take a picture, in my first class there really seemed to be a theme to the pictures they were taking...

New Moon

Hah! Like I'm talking about that one, nope I'm talking about the one outside, you know the one that is in the sky and that is super gorgeous...you know the one I'm talking about? Good! Tonight there was fireworks outside and I was hoping to capture some cool pictures (I discovered that my camera has a fireworks setting!), but sadly I didn't get any cool ones worth sharing (I guess you always have to have the trials where you delete every single one that you take) but as I was looking for something else to take a picture of Andrea pointed out the moon---it was beautifully breathtaking with the clouds passing by in front of it, I shot a couple and I am super pleased with what I got.

Camera Play

Now I am not one that normally just sits around and takes a lot of pictures of myself at one time, but once in awhile I get in a playful mood and be strange (I know I am strange a lot I just don't normally document it :D)

I would say that I am getting better at taking pictures of myself wouldn't you :D

...When going out and about and taking your camera be sure to remember this:Good thing my camera has built-in memory, now just to figure out how to get it OFF the camera...
