My dearest Mother gently complained that I have not really showed pictures or what a market is, when I was describing it once a few weeks ago she said "oh, that's completely different than I imagined." So when we went downtown with Yuling I took many pictures to show a "market," now this is just a general shopping market, with a little bit of everything...there is also specific markets just for fruit, just for vegetables, food, clothes, stones, meat, etc. but hopefully this will give you a general idea.

PhotoHunt: Fresh
When I went to Utah in August I got to stay with Brea and Darrell for a few days, one of the evenings we went over to Kyle's for dinner. Kyle was excited to share his garden with us and add some veggies to the dinner. All that he is holding in his hands aren't even all that we picked...crazy!

Curry Night!
Tonight we pulled Andrea's "chicken" out of the freezer. Andrea really wanted to make curry (and of course was I going to complain...NO!) and since we had the leftover vegetables it was perfect. We even spiced it up a little and added the rest of the peppers and cucumbers (guess what...you couldn't even taste that they were there!). It was super yummy, a little spicy, but nothing that water couldn't help!

Andrea asked if I would eat it if we made it again or if I would be up to making it again...I can't even believe that she had to ask :D
P.S. The meat wasn't bad but we're not quite sure if it really was chicken...it was kind of tough and chewy. All in all not a bad experience with the meat so far, we are ready to try some more!
(don't you just LOVE the super cute shirt that the Chuy Clan gave me for my birthday?)

Vegetables
My family should be super impressed with me...
this week in school our theme was "Vegetables" and we wanted the kids to try some raw and cooked vegetables to be able to compare (they don't normally eat raw vegetables--see story about this at end) and so because Yuling bought us all these vegetables we had plenty of leftovers, well leftovers mean that you have to eat them. So we did! We made an omelet sort of thing in disguise as scrambled eggs, it had...tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, peas, potatoes, cucumbers...and guess what I ATE IT! (and we had spaghetti sauce that had broccoli and mushrooms). Oh yeah and I ate it without any ketchup or extra toppings (and liked it). So dear family (and friends) you should be mighty impressed with me, I'm moving up in my anti-veggie world :D

Wednesday we talked about celery and of course you can't talk about celery without doing ants on a log, we talked about them and then all the kids washed their hands and got to make their own (I had already pre-cut the celery). At the end of my first class there was a bag full of celery that had the peanut butter and raisins licked off (they really liked that part :D). My 2nd class was a little more adventurous and everyone ate the whole thing. I thought that it was pretty funny...they were almost worse then me :D
