PhotoHunt: Dark

Freshman Year for one of our FHE activities we went and Heart Attacked the bishoprics houses, of course in order to do that you have to be dressed in black so that you can sneak up and not be seen :D We wouldn't be who we are if we didn't take some silly pictures.

Zai Jian to Sister Peterson

On Wednesday my freshman roommate Erika entered the MTC here in Provo. She will be there for 12 weeks before going to TAIWAN!!!
She flew in early and Tuesday evening we had a good-bye get-together at another roommate, Chelsea's apartment. It was fun to be able to see Erika for a little while and get to talk to her a bit. I'm so excited for her that she is going on a mission and super duper excited that she is going to Taiwan.

Because I came at the end of the party and a lot of other people had already come and gone there wasn't lots of people in this picture but we decided to get as many 55th-ers as there was before the rest left. I love how close my ward is and that we continually gather in large groups and always want to take a picture of everyone that is there.

Erika and Chelsea

Katie and Erika, this guy in Chelsea's ward was super sweet and had written something around 6 pages of advice for Erika from his own experience on the mission. It was super sweet considering he didn't even know Erika...so she spent sometime reading that after everyone else had left.

By the time everyone had left we realized that we were all very hungry, especially Erika who had been standing close to 3 hours talking with people and not eating anything...so we made a trip to In 'n' Out Burger, my first real experience there.

Chelsea, Katie, and David---obviously all very distracted by different things :D

When we dropped Erika and Chelsea back off at Chelsea's apartment there was much time taken with hugs before we could leave.

I'm so excited for Erika with the adventures that she is going to experience and that she has made this decision to devote her time to serve Heavenly Father. The people of Taiwan will be very blessed to have her serve them, she will bring a spirit and love that only she can.

Reunion of Friends

I love my freshman ward! I have kept the most friendships from there and continually talk with those that were in that ward---whether it be via facebook, e-mail, letters, in person, or on the phone. I am extremely grateful for the awesome people and bishopric from that ward. In the middle of September we had reunion at my bishops house (he actually has completed his 3 years of being bishop and was released so it was a mega reunion with all 3 wards crowded in), it was so much fun to see the guys that have been returning from their missions these last few months.

It's not very often that we get all of my roommates together and we were still missing Erika, but we had to at least take a picture of all of us together.

We had to add our adopted roommate Erin...she spent many a night on our couch or in someone's bed.

Allisyn made her public appearance and was a big hit with everyone!

Cody and Josh entertained us with their dancing and singing from freshman year (it was so funny, I was standing by some people from one of the other wards and they kept saying "what the heck is going on?" I explained to them that they had, had a group called Mustache Anonymous our freshman year and wrote several songs, etc.)

Naming the Baby

We had a new girl start this week in the 3 year old class, when someone new starts they either already have an English name or we as teachers put together a list of names to give to the parents and they get to pick which one they like the most. I was the only one available at the end of the day and so I quickly threw together a list...Macy, Katie, Chelsea, Erika, Sarah, Jamie, and a few others...you know all the good roommate names!
And the parents chose......... ERIKA!! Congrats Erika, there has been someone named after and in honor of you :D

Sleeping

I was looking through pictures from my freshman year and I began to notice a recurrence in the pictures...and people say that college students never sleep :) Notice that many of them are Katie and Chelsea, there generally wasn't a night that they or someone else was asleep in our kitchen/living room, either us or Erin though for some reason I didn't see any of Erin sleeping :(
