Halloween Parade

Last week Mom and I went to help Sonia in Samuel's classroom Halloween party. After the party they had a whole school parade. I took lots of pictures of the cute costumes so that I can get plenty of ideas for next year!

This was soooooo cute! When I have a little girl I am totally making her a costume like this (if you can't tell it's a little flower pot!)

Mary Poppins...awesome! I love it and it's so amazing how close she did.

The parents waiting for the kids to come (they first walked through each classroom before coming to the cafeteria so it took awhile)

This little girl was in her own little world, just dancing away as she walked through the parade.

I don't know why, but I just love the simplicity and creativity of the lego costume :D

How cute is that? She's a swan princess (she even had a tiara on her head)

My cute nephew...he was Darth Vader but masks weren't allowed at school so you couldn't quite tell.

This big brother was so cute and walking his little brother through the parade with him.

This whole family was awesome! They had Colonel Sanders (KFC), Burger King, Pizza Hut, Wendy's, and the two characters from McDonalds.

I loved this teachers costume...she was the tooth fairy.

Freaky!

There were several sets of Mario's and Luigi's.

My beautiful niece! Can you believe that she is already 9?!

Good-Bye for Now

Several weeks ago Nathan and Sallee made a big move to San Diego, California. We were sad to see them go, but are excited for them and their new adventures, the chance to have a place to stay in California, and are better with the knowledge that we will see them for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
A couple of nights before they left we gathered for a dinner with everyone that was in the area. We ate at this super yummy Indian restaurant in Salt Lake.
With all of us there we took up 3 tables (with stuff on the benches on a 4th I believe)!
The view to the left of me...Ben, Sonia, and family at one table. Nathan, Sallee, Mom and I shared a table in the middle (so everyone could talk to Nathan and Sallee). It was a very relaxed dinner and fun to see everyone. Even though I live near-by everyone I don't always feel like I see people.

After dinner we walked to where Mom's and Libbey's cars were parked. Nathan ran to where his was parked first to grab Jacob's car seat (as they had brought Jacob to the restaurant). I looked up to see Nathan running towards us with the car seat in one hand and Jacob in the other. He got to us and explained that as they were part way there Jacob stopped and said "Nathan, I can't go any further...I ran out of gas!"
Grandma and baby Claire...who is becoming less and less of a baby!

A close-up of the cutie-pie, who that night they decided looked more like a Mathews...Sallee said that she has the Mathews' "eyebrows."

Jacob playing in the water...he managed to get himself very wet by the end.

Nathan and Sallee walking away :(

Jacob wanted to follow them, so Uncle Kyle had to go grab him and bring him back to where we were standing and waving good-bye.

6 Course Fancy

Two weekends ago Andrea and I were able to go to Taipei with Yuling and Joseph to go to the Temple. After our sessions we had several hours still until our return train so we went exploring around Taipei. We were starting to get hungry when we walked past this fancy place, it was a steak restaurant and Andrea had mentioned wanting steak. It seemed a little on the fancier side but we figured that we were in our Sunday clothes and we weren't going to get much fancier.
There were 6 "courses"
Course 1: Bread (yummy!)
Course 2: Soup (I had sweet corn and Andrea had French Onion)
Course 3: Salad (I had a green salad with a yogurt dressing and Andrea had tomato and asparagus)
Course 4: Main Course (I had a yummy pasta with cheese, meat, and peppers. Andrea had steak)
Course 5: Dessert (Ice cream with fruit cocktail and a dollop of whipped topping)
Course 6: Drinks (I had lemon juice and Andrea had kiwi) (they don't generally drink during their meals which is why the drink is considered a course)

This is what I get for ordering fresh lemon juice, I was thinking lemonade, on the sweet side- yummy and delicious! Nope, I would say that there was absolutely NO SUGAR! added to my "lemon juice" and so you get this lovely
face :D

The meal was really yummy and only like $12, not that bad when you consider all that we had. It was kind of fun to eat at a multiple course restaurant, I have never done that before and it's kind of neat to mark that off on my experiences.
