No one go into shock when you hear this but I recently got myself a Tinder account (if you don't know what Tinder is don't worry, you really aren't missing tons). I haven't fallen madly in love with anyone (yet ;D) but one guy posted the link to his blog in his profile. He had written this post about dating that I was really impressed with.
You can read the whole post HERE.
This is a excerpt from it:
"President Uchtdorf's counsel is very wise, eye opening, and beautiful. All us seek acceptance. One of my greatest fears in dating is that I will say or do something that will drive girls away. I am afraid that if I am imperfect, then she won't want anything to do with me. I feel like if I do not meet her expectations, then I will not have a chance with her. We seem to be so quick to judge when someone's imperfection are so evident, but don't we wish people saw passed our weaknesses? It goes back to the golden rule that we should treat people how we want to be treated.
Everybody wants to love and to be loved. The best way that I know how to express that love is exactly how Elder Holland described it, be a kind word and a listening ear. I believe that if we all date with this attitude, dating will become fun and natural. The sooner we can all stop looking for perfection in those we date, the sooner we can find someone with whom life can be beautiful. We can create wonderful memories with a wide variety of people as we date a diverse pool. Life will become more beautiful, and the beauty that is innately in all us will begin to shine forth.

Ouch!
Last night I was working on a project in the walk-in fridge and walk-in freezer at work. I was moving these packages that had been under the fan in the freezer and a month or so ago it had been leaking so they were covered with ice. I wasn't thinking at the beginning and was just throwing the packages on the ground, I realized that I should get a garbage bag and put them directly in there rather than in the ground. I went and grabbed a bag and as I walked back in the fridge I immediately stepped on ice and went flying. My foot kicked the metal shelves and my head hit the metal door as all of me hit the ground. I tried working for a bit but then limped into the office at the insistence of Kayla after I told her what had happened. My foot continued to hurt for a little bit and my head ached but I went back to work. I didn't look at my foot last night or today until after walking around all day in shoes and having the edge of my shoe pressing right where the bruise was. This is what I found tonight and I now see why it hurts, all I can say is only me :(

The Next Little Old Lady
Today I feel like an old grandma waddling around. I should probably get my cane out and I would feel more the part.
Last night the weather got pretty bad, it was snowing and the roads became very slick very quickly. I was at work hosting a couple of parties when 2-3 different cars slid into others because they weren't gaining any traction, apparently hilly parking lot+ice/snow does not equal good things for other cars. We hadn't realized how bad it was outside but as soon as we did we quickly went outside to put ice melt on the roads.
When we got outside there was a car that was stuck and trying to get out. It was a group of 3 girls driving and they were in a rental car so of course they were overly concerned about sliding into another car (the one right in front of them was one that had already been hit once), so Derek and I put a bunch of ice melt around their car to hopefully help grab some reactions and prepared to push them, unfortunately for me I already have problems staying up without adding ice so the second time we pushed I slid and landed right on my hip. We were able to get them out of there safe fully without anything else happening to them or us.
We were still shoveling and ice melting when the owner of another car came out ready to leave. They asked if I would be willing to go to the entrance of the parking lot and let them know if there were cars coming in case they were to start sliding and unable to stop, they luckily got out fine but I slid again :(
I had many other close calls to falling, hence my very sore body today. If anyone sees the lady wobbling down the sidewalk, don't worry about it, it's probably just me :)
Interesting Fact: We put out over 150 lbs of ice melt and in doing so I discovered that it turns your hands very green.

Those Who Keep Me Sane
I often feel like I don't do much, besides work and school. Luckily I have some that make things happen in my life and help keep my brain from completely exploding (and lets be honest they keep me laughing pretty much 110% of the time). There are more (Kayla, Tristen, Broccoli--aka Josh, Cauliflower--aka Caleb) that help but these two are definitely the two that I talk to everyday and make life great. My life has always been full of great friends, those who have helped me right when I need to be and I'm extremely grateful for that and them.
Last night we went to Trafalga Orem to do the XD theater, WinCo for snacks for me (and whilst I was having a panic attack when I couldn't find my wallet Derek was great and stepped in paid for everything and Liz was coming up with solutions on how to find where my wallet might be), and to Spoon It Up for yummy frozen yogurt. Our night was full of laughter, off the wall comments and just lots of plain fun.
Monster Truck Jam
January was full of firsts, the biggest would be the MONSTER TRUCK JAM!! I had heard a little bit about it on the radio and thought that it sounded like fun and was talking to Derek about it was something that we should think about doing. When tickets came up for $10 on CityDeals (instead of the $33 that they were supposed to be) we jumped on it and started to invite some friends that we thought would want to join us.
I find it kind of funny that I grew up in what our county considered the hillbilly (this isn't the right word but I can't grab it out of my brain, it's right there on the edge) part, so many people drove trucks, wore jeans and boots, plaid shirts and and even some in high school wore suspenders. It was funny because this totally seemed like something that I would have done growing up but somehow I waited until I was in my 20's living in very modern non-hillbilly feeling Utah.
The show was so much fun, I was a little nervous when the trucks and motorcycles were flying through the air but I got used to it and was just screaming and cheering.
I love love this picture, it was perfect.
This truck did an awesome run and then right at the end it died, I somehow missed it but Kayla said it had flames coming out at the end. Because it died it had to get tractor towed out.
At one point Derek, Caleb, and Liz disappeared. I get a text from Derek with a picture of Kayla and I. He somehow has skill and sent it three times...he thought that I wouldn't be able to find them but I did :)
(I removed the picture as I realized that it had Derek's full name on the picture and didn't think that was the best thing to post)

If you like country music you will know the song Red Solo Cup by Toby Keith and this will mean more. Mostly thought this picture was for Derek because he couldn't grab a very good picture of it.
There was a family that was sitting in front of us, at one point the Mom got up to take a picture of her family, I offered to take one with all of them in it--she was extremely grateful and offered to take one for us in return. When she offered we weren't all there but right at the end before everyone left we grabbed a few, I find the progression of the faces through these three pictures.
Kayla, Me, Derek, Liz, Caleb, Jenni, and Jaxon
It was a great night with all of us stuffed in a mini van to and from the activity, lots of laughter and singing. I can't wait until next month when we are going to a motocross event!

Car Show
Another life first...a Car Show! Again I heard about it on the radio, I asked Derek if he was going, his response..."Heck Yes!" There were a lot of beautiful cars that made me want to move into them and never leave. I don't think that I have ever been so near (and inside) of so many nice, new, and expensive cars. Derek* and Junior were is car heaven, Liz, Kayla, and I saw a lot of nice cars but probably couldn't have told you the difference between every single car the way Derek could have. They had this cool thing where you could ride in Jeeps and they drove you through these courses, there was one part where you were almost on the right side--I thought that I was going to fall on Derek and he was worried about falling through the open window, luckily we all had our seat-belts on.
*He may have gone back again a second time a couple of days later and called me super excited because he had gotten to drive two really nice cars (Dodge Charger---one of his dream cars and something else) and got to floor it so they were going somewhere around 70-80mph.
