A Child's Prayer
Heavenly Father, are you really there?
And do you hear and answer ev’ry child’s prayer?
Some say that heaven is far away,
But I feel it close around me as I pray.
Something that Jesus told disciples long ago:
“Suffer the children to come to me.”
Father, in prayer I’m coming now to thee.
Pray, he is there;
Speak, he is list’ning.
You are his child;
His love now surrounds you.
He loves the children.
Of such is the kingdom,
The kingdom of heav’n.
I am not always the best at taking full advantage of prayer, but I always know that it will be there for me, I will always have this way to communicate with my Heavenly Father and be guided by him. What an amazing gift that we have been given, that we have NOT been sent here to Earth completely alone with no help or chance of succeeding. Heavenly Father wants us to succeed and he has given us many resources in order to do so, prayer is one of them and I am so grateful to have it, to know that he is there and listening to me.
